Research shows Curvy Women Are Happier

Health, LifeStyle Mar 05, 2019

Some people see curvier women as unattractive and associate them with lack of control. In fact, society has been basing their judgement on the sizes and looks instead of the intellect. In some places, they have been seen as weak and lazy. Strangers to have teased them due to the healthiness, which might be worse than teasing. “Who is the man to marry you,” that is just one of the taunts hurled at the women. Even though marrying a fat woman is a personal choice, studies have shown that curvy women and their husbands are happier than most people think.

A study conducted in the UK has shown that women who wear bigger size are more satisfied in life than the slimmer ones are. For most women, the body size does not play any role in their overall feeling and that applies to men too. For a long time, the conventional thinking has suggested that the skinny women have carefree with contented live and the curvier ones are always worried about their bottoms and muffin tops and have always mourned the fact that wearing a size 6 is not possible.

The good news is that conventional thinking is misleading. A UK poll that involved over 2,000 women showed that there is a correlation between happiness and curviness. So Fabulous, the researcher, targeted women between the age of 14-32 years. The results showed that curvy women (those who wore above size 16) enjoyed more body satisfaction and a healthier body image. Around 74 percent of the women within the size range were contented with their body figure. The percentage was the highest the poll reported.

On the other hand, most women within the lower ranges were not happy with their appearance. Around 59 percent of the women who wear sizes 6-10 said that they were happy with their appearance, but around half of them wished that they were curvier.  Categorization of women according to their shape and size is annoying. Therefore, women of all sizes and shapes will have to decide on the impacts this poll has on them.

Women in the size 6-10, which is more enviable, are more worried about their appearance than the larger women are – the fact is somehow shocking. Some women wearing size 2 refer to themselves as fat. Those wearing size 14 of the affordable plus size women’s clothing in Australia are unlikely to say something about their size, weight, or that of anyone else. However, the reverse is also true. The study showed that women could be happy regardless of their size. It also showed that women might feel miserable regardless of body size.

Another study that Dr. Filemon and Dr. Edgardo Morales from UNAM’s Psychology department conducted showed that men who are married to curvaceous women tend to be happier and healthier in life. The men smile more and are able to deal with problems as they arise. The chubby women are able to anticipate the needs of their partners and they will make their men around ten times happier than the thin women do. The same study suggested that than most thin women are more reserved, less expensive with emotions and unfriendly.
